What is the C# Augmented Chord?

The C# Augmented chord is a useful grip to learn because it shows you the core chord tones you'll reuse in riffs, progressions, and improvisation. This chord is enharmonically equivalent to Db Augmented.

Augmented triads raise the 5th by a half step (#5), producing a bright, "lifted" tension that sounds like it's reaching upward.
