Mixolydian is the fifth mode of the major scale, and its ♭7 gives it a sound that sits right between major and blues — bright but with a groove. It's the secret ingredient in classic rock rhythm parts, Grateful Dead jams, and any major-key riff that wants to feel relaxed rather than resolved. Here's how the C# Mixolydian Mode lays out on the fretboard. This scale is enharmonically equivalent to Db Mixolydian.
